"take the steps...transform your life"
The Design for Living course is for anyone who is seeking a deeper experience and understanding of the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.). The aim of this course is to assist A.A. members to gain a better understanding and progress in their recovery by going through the 12 Steps.
Members from all over the world, from one month to multiple years of sobriety, have completed the Design for Living course and are left with a greater sense of understanding of the 12 steps and a strengthened program foundation.
The only requirement is a desire to stop drinking.
Each online meeting is 90 minutes which includes a lead speaker for each step followed by sharing with the members of the group. Suggested commitment to this group will include weekly readings from the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous and the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, writing reflections following the Design for Living Guidebook, and meeting with sharing partner(s)/sponsor during the week - all to the best of your ability.
Virtual Meeting Details
The Design for Living Step-Taking Group meets via Zoom for 14 weeks on Thursdays, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The Zoom link is provided to pre-registered participants before the first session. Each session has a lead speaker, followed by breakout rooms for individual sharing by participants.
We suggest that each participant:
ATTEND all 14 Zoom sessions
WRITE out the reflection questions outlined for each step in the guidebook
READ suggested passages in the Big Book, Alcoholics Anonymous (4th edition), and Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions
SHARE and STUDY weekly with a group of one or more partners and/or a sponsor willing to talk through your written reflection question
NOTE: Your sharing partner(s)/sponsor does not have to be attending the course at this time
COMMUNICATE between sessions by calling at least one new person from the group to check in and introduce yourself
